Preserve & Protect As the Metolius Basin and Suttle Lake areas increase in use and popularity, we remind you to please make your impact "light on the land". Please respect the few but important rules regarding fires, camping, litter, fishing and trail use. The Metolius Basin proper is designated as the Metolius Conservation Area where forest management emphasizes the retention of the old growth poderosa pine ecosystem, protection of the water quality of the Metolius River, and where the use of motorized vehicles are restricted to designated roads. We want this unique and fragile area to remain unspoiled and enjoyable for future generations.
